HONG LEONG BANK GANTUNG 45 PEKERJA...???

HONG LEONG BANK GANTUNG 45 PEKERJA

Mereka digantung tanpa gaji sehingga 11 Disember 2013.

Hong Leong Bank suspends 45 workers;
Ministry of Human Resources turns deaf, dumb and blind!

On 19 November 2013, the Industrial Relations Department (IRD), Ministry of Human Resources at the meeting between NUBE, Hong Leong Bank and the IRD, the Department advised both Hong Leong Bank and NUBE to maintain status quo on the hubbing and relocation pending reference to the Industrial Court.

Both parties agreed. However, on 20 November 2013, just a day later, Hong Leong Bank was back to committing its atrocities.

Workers were denied access to the bank’s premises, to sign their attendance, to even use the toilet and to even perform the “solat” (for Muslim brother/sisters).

Whilst Hong Leong Bank was so arrogantly committing these atrocities, the IRD, Ministry of Human Resources becomes deaf, dumb and blind to these atrocities.

In the meeting between NUBE, Hong Leong Bank and the IRD, Ministry of Human Resources on 4 December 2013 the Department played truant. The Department seemed to be incompetent to accessing the damage done to the 45 workers. The Department was not able to decipher the various breaches and did not possess the knowledge on the violation of human rights committed. The Department merely played the role of a “messenger” and sang along with the wishes of Hong Leong Bank to refer the matter to the Industrial Court.

In the meantime, Hong Leong Bank proceeds violate basic human rights, issues Show Cause letters to the 45 workers, refused extension of time for the 45 workers to reply the Show Cause letter and finally on 9 December 2013 has suspended “without pay” all 45 workers.

They are suspended without pay till 11 December 2013. If they do not report to work to the new locations on 12 December 2013, the 45 workers will face summary dismissal.

So, we need to ask ourselves what is the role of the Government of Malaysia?
